What is MDF?

MDF is a product manufactured by pressing a fiber mat under heat and pressure. The fibers are obtained thermomechanically from wood or other lignocellulosic raw materials, mixed with synthetic adhesives, and dried to a specific moisture level before processing.

Where is MDF Used?

The homogeneous distribution and density of fibers throughout MDF allow not only both surfaces of the board but also its edges to be machined without cracking or creating gaps between material particles. Thanks to this property, MDF is successfully used in the production of components such as tabletops, door panels, beveled edges, and profiled drawer fronts.

The surfaces of MDF boards can be coated with all types of laminates, resin-impregnated papers, foils, and wood veneers. MDF edges are extremely smooth and compact, allowing groove and tongue applications and all types of profiling without the need for solid wood edging.

Convenience, Stability, and Excellence

Another major advantage of MDF is its high bending resistance, modulus of elasticity, and excellent screw and nail holding strength. Its ease of machining, outstanding stability, minimal dimensional movement, availability in standard sizes, and the fact that both surfaces are sanded and calibrated make it highly practical for use.

Additionally, MDF is free from defects such as knots, cracks, and splinters, maintains uniform density throughout, and is ready for use without requiring any pre-treatment. It is compatible with all types of lacquer, paint, and varnish, and can be coated with materials such as wood veneer, PVC, laminate, and melamine decorative paper. Its ability to securely hold screws both on surfaces and edges is among the key characteristics of Çamsan Ordu MDF.

Our profile products are unmatched not only in all applications but especially in cabinet door manufacturing applications.
